CLYDE MOUNTAIN KITCHEN

Who says that you can’t have a beautiful kitchen if you live in a log cabin?

By balancing out the wood heavy feeling with different finishes and colors, and rectifying a horrible layout, this primitive kitchen went from rustic to zen.

The lovely green cabinet color adds the water element while the honed, leathered Negressco countertops add water. Contrasting Egyptian Clay paint on the doors harkens the fire element.

Several antique pieces that the owner had were incorporated into the cabinet design.
The refrigerator was relocated from a hallway leading to a bedroom, and the area was walled in allowing a longer cabinet run.

Adding a peninsula married two vast, awkward spaces and created more storage and an eating area.

Better lighting, and new casement windows bring in the sunshine and fresh mountain air.
